Christina Barry Todd is Kim's grandmother. She was born March 25, 1902, in Belfast, County Down, Northern Ireland. Her parents, James Barry and Mary Ann Magill Barry, had 12 children and she was the youngest of the 12. She learned to knit, sew and crochet in school. She worked in a linen mill as a teenager. She married John Todd in February of 1923. They became the parents of a daughter, Christina, in 1924. John emmigrated from Ireland to the United States in 1927 when young Chrissy was 3 because there were better opportunities for work. Two long years later Christina and Chrissy were able to join their husband and father in America. Another child, John Barry Todd, blessed their lives in 1931.
Christina never learned to drive and the family never owned a car, so they walked or road the train whenever they traveled. Christina never lost her Irish brogue and it was delightful to hear her talk. She passed away in 1986 in Blackfoot, Idaho and is buried in the Grove City Cemetery.
